Heiko Laux – Fernweh (Kanzleramt Music)
Techno / Electronica
The twentieth anniversary of Kanzleramt marks a significant milestone in the career of Heiko Laux. Label owner since the beginning in 1994, he brings to us his impressive fifth solo album filling a void in contemporary electronic music. Keeping consistent to his style, rhythmically challenging patterns flutter throughout the album making it a solid, coherent 8-piece composition. Hints of Detroit techno permeate the collection with drastic chord changes that gently tinker with the boundary between techno and trance.
Sandro Golia – La Grande Bellezza
Deep House / Techno
And again it is Sandro Golia who pushes us straight through deep atmospheres in his new EP, which is named just the same way as its first track „La Grande Bellezza“. After a smooth start the bass line introduces itself with a solid attitude finding atmospheric dimensions to play with. This great piece of art is followed by the driving sound of „Galatone“. The purity of galactic gloominess comes along with melodious drops to catch your soul.
BSN Posse – Too Long / Let Me Go
BSN Posse are from the sun kissed South of Spain, Malaga to be exact. Although they are relatively new to releasing music, they have garnered a lot of attention from the online community. Respected music sites such as Ear Milk, Vice and Sturban have already featured music from this exciting duo. London based label Daily Operation heard Too Long & Let Me Go and lost their minds. So here it is… The only way to describe this release is Bass & Soul.
DJ STYLEWARZ – The EP.
(Der Letzte Seiner Art)
A dj must do what a dj must do spinning, cutting, mixing records. Faster, louder, backwards, sideways. Battles as skirmishes on the quest for the final groove. Scratching like a young god as the main discipline. But just a few turntable skills alone won’t get the dancefloor rocking. A proper DJ needs to have a little more. At best, it is dexterity that meets experience. And a good feeling for the moment. For the audience, and for the beats. For the atmosphere, and for the ego of the MCs. Depending on who you are spinning your records for at the moment.
Various Artists – Winter Time, Vol. 3 – 22 Premium Trax of Chillout, Chillhouse, Downbeat and Lounge
Electronic / Chill Out
The best electronic tracks for cold winter days. This 22 tracks compilation of chillout, chillhouse, downbeat and lounge will heat you up.
Stalawa – Different Style
(Foreign Mind Records)
Reggae / Dancehall / 2010s
Stalawa is back with his irresistable digital rub a dub sound, which is again perfectly complemented by Ponchita Peligros’ vocal taking you back to a dance in the 1980s, but in a different style.
Eriah – Retour à l’essentiel
(Hemp Higher Productions)
Winner of the Swiss “Best Urban Act” in 2012 – Eriah released a killer EP on the swiss market earlier this year and established himself as one of the leading rookies of the country. He will most certainly confirm that with this 18 track album which was 2 years in the making. “This album reflects, in my view, what’s important in life. Instead of concentrating on materialism, people should be focussing on having more better relationships, and being more honest with the people around them.”
