there should always be time to indulge oneself with some good tunes. Just take a listen to our new releases this week: Rocco Caine’s Techno music will accompany you through memorable nights and for a cozy evening spent at home, you better choose Singer/Songwriter Ciaran Lavery or the german band Projektor. The award-winning Lisbeth Quartett is enfolding you in Jazz Sounds and if you want to laugh, enjoy the german Punk band Die Kassierer. Or do you prefer Hard Rock music? Deville’s new Album might just be the right thing for you. Also released this week are the local Talk artists Ashley Beadle & Lay-Far & Darren Morris, who teamed up for The Slope EP, that embraces the charms of disco and house. And, since christmas already is coming again, we’ve got a nice compilation with some not so classical christmas songs by Hundreds, Torpus & The Art Directors, The Dead South and many more.
Our release of the week is the new album by the german Hip Hop group Main Concept. It features great collaborations with german Rappers like Samy Deluxe, Blumentopf or Denyo.
All the best
Hier und jetzt (Buback)
Main Concept have been around for 25 years now, showing skills without showing off. And they have all the time in the world: Their last album dates back to 2005! Yet they still know how to do it. Celebrating their 25th anniversary „Hier Und Jetzt“ is the new release by the Munich- based group. It also features many other german Hip Hop greats like Samy Deluxe, Denyo and Blumentopf.
Shadows / Dozer (Kanzleramt Music)
debut on Kanzleramt was merely a question of time, as Heiko was hooked on Rocco’s pure techno-bombs for years. Rocco’s welcome to the Kanzleramt Family was celebrated with a record release party at Tresor Berlin on the 26th of September 2015 with Alexander Lukat
, Alexander Kowalski
– live, Heiko Laux
and of coarse Rocco Caine.
Not nearly dark (ZART records)
Singer / Songwriter, Folk
Ciaran Lavery found his musical voice through the simplest of means “…listening to old 80s singles on my sister’s record player.” Cutting his young teeth in various (often noisier) incarnations over the last decade – that voice is now as soothing as it is timeless. Ciaran crafts heart-on-sleeve acoustic pop in the vein of ‘29’-era Ryan Adams; full of passion and meaning, “I come from a tiny village; you could literally drive through Aghagallon in thirty seconds, but it’s jam packed full of characters and real, genuine people. It’s the type of place where if you’re being an idiot someone will tell you. That’s just how the environment was. I guess that sort of honesty comes out in my music.”
Make it belong to us (Fuzzorama)
Classic Rock / Hard Rock / Heavy Metal
The album debut “Make it belong to us” on Fuzzorama records will be heavier, darker and more progressive than before and you will be absolutely amazed by the mix of dark hooks and melodic fuzz that will blast from your speakers.
Lisbeth (Live) (Traumton)
ECHO Jazz awardee Lisbeth Quartett releases a live version of the last album “Framed Frequencies”.
Ashley Beedle, Lay- Far & Darren Morris
The Slope EP (Local Talk)
Electronic / House
Ever since the debut, “Communication EP” which also marked our 50th release, Alexander Lay-Far has a special place in the Local Talk family. Since then things have been going well with plenty more releases, tours, the launch of his label In-Beat-Ween Music plus a new full length album done. With so much things on the go we’re of course very happy to welcome Lay-Far back and with him this time, two UK house legends the needs little introduction, Ashley Beedle and Darren Morris. Together the trio produced an EP that embraces the charms of both disco and house and we think it hits on every level.
Vow (sinking Lights Records)
Alternative / Avantgarde / Indie Pop
The new EP “Vow” from German band Projektor is released on 13th November and will be played during their support of Enno Bunger (PIAS Germany) on his upcoming tour (13th – 28th November) for the first time. „Vow“ contains four unique songs – I made a vow, Body, Under my chest and Bear in the woods. These four songs build this authentic and honest debut everyone should be excited about.
About Christmas Vol. 2 (DevilDuck Records)
Alternative / Singer / Songwriter / Americana
“About Christmas Songs 2” is surprisingly the follow up to Volume 1 and again contains a mixture of new & exclusive Christmas songs from Hundreds, Torpus & The Art Directors, The Dead South as well as some older recordings from the likes of Okkervil River, Palace Songs and The Polyphonic Spree. This compilation should show that there are not only bad christmas songs out there and this mixture of German, Canadian, American and Scandinavian artists are doing there best to let us have a great Christmas.
Haptisch – ihre besten Aufnahmen aus 30 Jahren (Teenage Rebel Records)
The polarising german band “The Kassierer” are celebrating their 30th anniversary with a compilation of their best recordings. “Haptisch – Ihre besten Aufnahmen aus 30 Jahren” contains 31 remastered songs from the Punk Band.
