All the best
Combining subversive fun and aggressive humor with musical skills and diversity like no second punkrock group in Germany, TERRORGRUPPE‘s “Tiergarten” became an energetic variation of angry, sarcastic, over-the-top but fleet-footed driving songs. This is the album fans and enemies of the band have been waiting for so many years: entertainment, charme and full attack, primitivity and thoughtfulness in the same moment, full of depth and deep hits. 14 melodic Punk & Aggropop Tunes with unpredictable and provocative twists and turns.
“Winter Mood” is a collection of warm sounds that may help you to get through the cold and dark days making them bareable. Volume 3 includes Artists like: Scott Matthew (Glitterhouse), Monokle (KI records), Eating Snow (Freude am Tanzen), COSBY (Just Push Play), All the Luck in the World and many others. For the cozy things in life.
Wax Wreckaz has teamed up with Dynamite MC to provide you some new Bass sounds. Riddim Royals, Smalltown DJs and many others have made their own versions of “Heavyweight Sound”, which are also included in this release.
When Alexander von Schlippenbach debuted his composition “Globe Unity” and the orchestra of the same name at the Berliner Jazztage on November 3rd 1966, the mainstream press was not sure whether to find the result radical or ridiculous: “Witches cauldron” or “Male prank in the Philharmonie” read the headlines the next day. „Back then you could shock people with music, which is not really possible anymore today”, notes the now 77 year old. “But that is not what it is about anyways.” With a Berlin based ensemble featuring Antonio Borghini on double bass, Heinrich Köbberling on drums and Rudi Mahall on bass clarinet – musicians around thirty to forty years his junior – the pianist and composer offered his current musical concepts during a celebrated concert at the Theater Gütersloh on October 3rd 2015; the audience witnessed a compelling and challenging program of up to date improvisations and (Pre-)Bebop-compositions by Herbie Nichols, Thelonious Monk, and Eric Dolphy.
Dota is back! With a completely new sound! The Berlin based singer Dota Kehr and her band (Jan Rohrbach – guit, Janis Görlich – dr, Jonas Hauer – keys) got lots of fans in the last few years and found their own place in the world of german pop music. They even recorded two albums and played many concerts in Brazil and in 2014 she was awarded the Fred-Jay-Preis for her songtexts.
For our 65th release we’ve got Gomma boss Mathias Modica aka Munk and NDATL head honco Kai Alce sharing the black gold. While Munk’s original version of Hot Medusa is a shimmering and warm head-nodding & toe-tapping jam, the remix by Mr Alce is deep, soulful and musically rich house. Two very different takes on one track, take your pick. On the flip Munk delivers Purple Dust. This time he’s upped the tempo a few bpm, accompanied a deep bassline with lush melodic synths and chords. Mr Alce ends the 12” with a dub of Hot Medusa which is brilliant from start to finish.
The Igel Bande make all children happy with their new collection of songs evolving around some well known german fairytales.
