The music of Silvie Loto can be quite an enchanted place. The tracks of her „Crying Love EP“ reinforce this presumption. Inside are wonderful electronic musings, predestinated for hopelessly getting lost. With her melodies, this talented Italian artist, sets emotional priorities. Fragments of her voice are smartly installed. Deeply laid-back rhythms frame the multilayering atmospheres.
Emerald & Doreen Records, the world’s most productive digital indie/electronica/deep house/cosmic disco/dub techno-label, celebrates having released 500 tracks and remixes with their “Hit Selection Vol.3”, a not-to be missed pack of aural bliss for international music lovers and sound hipsters, stuffed with future classics from up and coming new artists and some well-known heroes. Emerald & Doreen’s mantra is a mixture of “we simply love music”, “genres, WTF are genres”, “even the best song can get a remix which is better than the original” and “stardom is dead, baby”.

Ever since we stumbled upon one of their demos we were convinced that we had to release THE BUILDING’S music. It’s stunning and breathtaking, it conveys that raw and intimate feeling that’s quite scarce to find. Capturing the dance floor with their bottomless kick drum and striking chords are GOOD GUY MIKESH & FILBURT. We’re long-time fans of their work and thankful they took the time to deliver this great remix.
“Ungrund”, whose title draws on the theologian Jakob Boehme’s concept of “unground” (bottomless nothing), whence light springs forth, is a paradoxical parenthesis in the musical career of Gábor Gadó. The album occurs at a time when he has put himself in a state of watchfulness through immersing himself in the works of Johan-Sebastian Bach and the pianist-composer Barnabás Dukay. It took as long to record as the concert during which he rediscovered, as when going back home, his French quartet who enabled his music of a few years ago to blossom so well. But at the request of the organizers, he also welcomed the Outsider, according to a custom which owes something to the tradition of the jam session, the rite of patronage and the necessities of communication.
Throughout the wonderfully grown cooperation between Jeff and the hr-Bigband, the idea suggested itself to bring soul classics in combination with self-composed Soul Jazz songs on stage together. And that is what happened in August 2012 on a stage near Frankfurt, Germany. The sound fits the picture of a lush metropolis which lead to the title: SOUL TOWN! A sound which no longer exists, a sound that blows off all the desultoriness: a musical statement! The sound of the hr-Bigband and its soloists is impressively fresh and funky. May there be some more SOUL TOWNS!
